The RPMFL opened its season on an absolutely beautiful May 13th Saturday at Northshore Fishing Lake with the Rosebud Royals playing host to the Wynyard Blues. Fans got to see a provincial final caliber pitching match up with Kobe Faubert pitching for Rosebud while Greg Hill threw for the Blues. The pitchers would duel with Hill throwing 15 strike outs while Faubert matched him step for step with 14. Wynyard managed to score a few runs beginning in the 3rd inning with a Tayler Jordan home run. The Blues would also get contributions from Rookies Austin Hilts with 2 hits and Evan Fisher with 2 walks to set the table for a 2 run double by Josh Jordan followed by a 2 run home home run by Michael Jordan to seal the game for the Blues.
The league resumes with the rematch of this game in Wynyard on May 24th at 7:00.
